I found yoga while suffering from multiple chronic health issues and an eating disorder.  My personal yoga practice has allowed me to grow in many ways. It has given me a sense of peace during times of stress.  It has taught me how to accept my body as is at any moment.  It has taught me patience when I experience pain.  It has also inspired me to offer a compassionate, body-positive yoga, where people of all capabilities and all shapes feel comfortable to practice.

Sharing my passion of life , yoga, and overall health and wellness in a compassionate, patient, and respectful environment is  humbling because I'm here thanks to each of you. Through my yoga practice and RYT200 hour training with Mothership School of Yoga, I discovered the relationship between body, mind, and breath. The opportunity to help people experience, feel, and be nurtured with the all encompassing benefits of yoga on and off the mat, applied to everyday life, creating more space, connection, and balance makes my heart and spirit sing.

I started this life travelling on the path my parents’ and child’s wisdom set before me. As I grew into a woman, my childish wisdom disappeared. My adult wisdom became naïve, and I lost myself. Then, one day, on this path of naïve wisdom I ran head-on into a hurricane, and my life’s direction changed. Today I am steadfast on a journey leading towards wisdom, an open heart, balance and peace in my body, mind and spirit. I carry the roadmap to this journey in my heart, and I bring it to every class that I teach. I offer it openly and hope that is serves as a guide that will help my students on their own journey of self-discovery. My practice includes all aspects of Yoga. My workshops and classes combine with the gentle awareness of Hatha, the postural precision of Iyengar, the playfulness of Vinyasa and the soulfulness of Kundalini.

Striving to bring the spark of awareness into the deepest darkest corners of my body has greatly impacted how I play the game of life, and it is this crucial piece that inspires me to share the ever-evolving practice of self-exploration. Awareness from the centre of the nervous system to the periphery and from the periphery to the centre combined with internal awareness of respiration (breath entering and exiting the body) initiates the first phases of the transformation process. By creating awareness in the body, the transport of oxygen and nutrients via the circulatory system and electrical impulses via the nervous system are able to penetrate every layer deeply, thus enabling proper communication between the cells that make up the tissues of the body. The integration and subsequent transformation that occurs here is dependent on the quality of attention (dynamic extension & awareness) applied by the student during practice.

Integration within the layers of the body provides the student with more information about the Self, subtle reactions of the sense organs to the external world, and how these influence our internal mental and physical environment.

In other words, getting in touch with your physical body influences how you perceive the world around you. When the instrument of the body is able to communicate from your toes to your head, and from one organ system to another, you become a genius of your own body: Your Primary Vehicle, and this is where the magic happens.
